For homeowners

Someone from UTS is coming about your door or window

You did not hire us. The manufacturer of your door or window did, and we are here to carry out the service they approved. This page explains who we are, what happens next, and what you are entitled to expect from the person who arrives.

Who we are, in one paragraph

UTS ServicePros is a warranty service network. Door and window manufacturers contract us to handle the service side of their warranties — the inspections and repairs that happen at your address rather than at their factory. We have been doing it since 2007 and complete around 10,000 repairs a year.

We are not the manufacturer, and we do not decide what your warranty covers. Our job is to find out what is actually wrong, fix what the manufacturer has approved, and document it properly so nobody has to take anyone’s word for it later.

There is no cost to you for warranty work. If something falls outside what the warranty covers, you will be quoted for it separately and nothing proceeds unless you agree.

What happens next

The clock the contractor is working to

These are not aspirations. They are the standards every contractor accepts when they take the assignment, and each step is logged against them.

  1. 01

    Within 3–4 business days

    Someone contacts you

From the moment your manufacturer sends the work order, the assigned contractor has three to four business days to reach you. Every attempt is logged, so if messages are being missed there is a record of it rather than silence.

  2. 02

    Within 7 days

    A date is agreed

For an inspection, a confirmed appointment date agreed with you and entered into the system. You pick a time that works; nobody arrives unannounced.

  3. 03

    The visit

The work is done and documented

The contractor photographs the condition before and after, records what was found and what was done, and asks you to sign off. That file goes to your manufacturer.

  4. 04

Within 10 days of parts arriving

    The repair is completed

Where parts have to be ordered, the repair is scheduled within five days of their arrival estimate and completed within ten. Waiting on a part is the one delay nobody controls, so it is tracked separately.

Our code of conduct

What you are entitled to expect in your home

Every contractor in the network agrees to these before they are given a single job. Where they are not met, payment can be held until you are satisfied.

Photo identification, every visit

Every contractor works wearing a photo ID badge. If someone arrives without one, or arrives unannounced, call us before letting them in.

An adult has to be home

A responsible person aged 18 or over must be at the property while the contractor is on site. A contractor will not perform work with the homeowner away from the residence — it protects you, and it protects them from any question about what happened.

Your home is protected and cleaned

Flooring, walls and surrounding surfaces are protected before work starts, and any residue from the repair is cleaned up before the contractor leaves.

Care with parking

No parking on your lawn. If the driveway is necessary, care is taken not to damage the drive, grass or beds, and not to block you in.

No smoking, no alcohol, no extra passengers

No smoking anywhere on your property. No alcohol on the day of the visit. No family members or pets brought along to the job.

Nobody sells you anything

Contractors working for UTS are prohibited from soliciting additional work from you during a service visit. If you want other work done, that is a separate conversation held on someone else’s time.

The honest part

Nobody will promise you a new window at the door

The contractor who visits will inspect the product, document what is wrong with it, and send that to your manufacturer. They will not tell you whether a part or the whole unit is going to be replaced, because that is not their decision to make — it is the manufacturer’s.

That can feel unhelpful in the moment. It is the opposite. Anyone who promises you a replacement on your doorstep is making a commitment on behalf of a company that has not agreed to it, and the person left disappointed when it is refused is you.

What we will always tell you is what we found and what we sent.

If something is not right

Call (972) 633-6806 or email [email protected]. That reaches the people who manage the network, not a call center.

Worth calling about: a contractor who arrives without photo identification, an appointment nobody confirmed with you, conduct that falls short of the standards above, or an attempt to sell you additional work. Every one of those is a breach of what the contractor agreed to, and we would rather hear it from you than not hear it at all.
