# Quality Inspections

An independent, photo-documented assessment of what is actually wrong with the product — written to be used as evidence, and deliberately written without a recommendation the manufacturer did not ask for.

## An inspection is a fact-finding exercise, not a sales call

The point of an inspection is to give the manufacturer an accurate picture of a product in the field so they can decide what to do about it. That only works if the person on site has no stake in the answer.

Inspections are performed without bias and point only to the issue with the unit. They carry no guarantee to the homeowner about the outcome, because the remedy is the manufacturer's decision alone. A contractor who promises a replacement has created a liability where there was a question.

## Detail is a contractual requirement, not a preference

An inspection report has to be detailed enough to act on. It must cover every issue found with the product, not just the one the homeowner called about, and installation faults must be recorded with measurements and photographs of the error.

Vague or nondescript notes are treated as a failure of the inspection, and the cost of the return trip they cause falls on the contractor. That is a deliberate incentive: the manufacturer should never be the one paying for an inspection that was too thin to use.

## What the manufacturer receives

A submitted inspection carries the diagnosis, the supporting photographs, measurements where an installation fault is involved, and the contractor's notes — delivered into a single system of record the manufacturer can access, and retained for warranty and claims purposes.

Across a program, those reports become something more useful than individual claim files: a picture of which products fail, in which regions, in what way, and how often.

Questions

## What manufacturers ask about inspections

### What does a UTS ServicePros inspection cover?

Every issue found with the product, not only the complaint that triggered the visit. Where an installation fault is involved, the report includes measurements and photographs of the error. The report is written to be used as evidence in a warranty decision.

### Will the inspector tell the homeowner what will happen next?

No, and it is a firm rule. Inspections point to the issue without guarantees. Whether a component or a whole unit is replaced is the manufacturer's decision, and a promise made on site creates an expectation the manufacturer never agreed to.

### Can inspections be used for something other than an individual claim?

Yes. Across a program the reports show which products fail, where, in what way and how often. That is the same evidence base a manufacturer needs for a design review, a supplier conversation or a recall decision.
