UTS ServicePros covers the lower 48 states and western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba) with roughly 250 independent contractors active at any one time. Alaska and Hawaii have been served on past programs but are not part of the standing service area.

## What coverage means

An area is covered when there is an active independent contractor - a real, insured business with verified door and window experience - who already works that area or will travel to it. It does not mean a shaded map or a call center number.

## How a contractor is assigned

Three factors decide who receives a work order: proximity to the service address, the contractor performance record on prior jobs, and qualification for the specific product and failure type. Proximity alone is never sufficient.

## When no contractor is nearby

- **Recruit**: an uncovered area triggers a staff recruiter to source and vet a qualified contractor with a verifiable history of door and window work. This is a standing function, so the gap closes permanently.
- **Batch the travel**: the visit is routed alongside other manufacturers jobs in the same direction so travel cost is shared rather than charged against one claim. Most manufacturers prefer this.
- **Dispatch immediately**: a contractor travels to the location right away. Reserved for genuine emergencies, and it costs more.

## Where density is highest

Contractor density follows the United States megaregions - the Northeast corridor, Piedmont Atlantic, Florida, the Great Lakes, the Gulf Coast, the Texas Triangle, the Front Range, the Arizona Sun Corridor, Southern and Northern California, and Cascadia.

## Response standards

- Homeowner contacted within 3-4 business days of the work order
- Inspection scheduled within 7 days, submitted within 14 days
- Repair scheduled within 5 days of the parts ETA, submitted within 10 days

Turnaround is measured from the point the request is complete and parts are accounted for; time lost to incomplete requests or parts in transit is tracked separately.

## Contractor prerequisites

Every active contractor operates their own business, carries their own general liability and commercial auto insurance, has demonstrated door and window repair experience, runs a vehicle able to transport door units and large glass, has daily computer and internet access plus a mobile device for field documentation, and is re-verified for background, insurance and licensing annually.
